Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has confessed he would only consider a return to the dugout for two specific clubs.
Rooney views a return to management as unlikely but sees himself taking charge at either Manchester United or Everton.
I doubt it. Again, I know I’ve been through four tough jobs. The only option I would return for in any capacity is Everton or Manchester United. But it’s very unlikely.
The 40-year-old has been out of work since leaving Plymouth Argyle by mutual consent in December 2024.
Previously, he managed Derby County, DC United, and Birmingham City, but none of these stints brought him the success he was hoping for.
The former England striker has since turned to punditry, revealing that this new role has provided him with a true sense of purpose.
