The biggest surprise on the list was the absence of Enzo Fernandez. The midfielder made a splash on deadline day, transferring from Chelsea to Manchester City for £125 million, thus entering the ranks of the most expensive deals in league history. However, his current market value prevented him from securing a spot in the top 11.
The reigning champions, Arsenal, have the most representatives in this all-star team, with five players included: Jurriën Timber (£60m), William Saliba (£86m), Gabriel Magalhães (£64m), Declan Rice (£103m), and Bukayo Saka (£95m).
Manchester City featured four players: Gianluigi Donnarumma (£39m), Nico O'Reilly (£60m) who transferred from Nottingham Forest, Elliot Anderson (£95m), and the tournament's most expensive player, Erling Haaland (£189m).
Completing the squad are Morgan Rogers from Chelsea (£95m) and new Liverpool signing Bradley Barcola (£77m). Notably, there was no representation from Manchester United in this symbolic team.
