Tottenham are closely monitoring the situation of Bayern Munich central defender Kim Min-jae. Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi is keen to shore up his defence following the club's worst start to a Premier League season since 2008.
The London side have struggled defensively, conceding eight goals in their opening five Premier League matches. Following last week's defeat to Aston Villa, Tottenham find themselves at the bottom of the table with just two points to their name.
According to insider Christian Falk, Aston Villa are also showing interest in the South Korean defender. However, any potential transfer during the January window will depend on the outcome of discussions between Kim and Bayern's hierarchy regarding his role in the team, scheduled for December. If the Bavarians agree to let him go, the deal could be worth around €25-30 million.
This season, Kim has started four times for Bayern under Vincent Kompany. He boasts an impressive track record, having won the Bundesliga twice and being named the best defender in Serie A during Napoli's triumphant 2022/23 season.
With his contract at Bayern running until June 2028, Kim Min-jae could present a low-risk option for Tottenham to urgently address their defensive dilemmas.
