Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has made a delightful gesture by gifting New York Mayor Zogran Mamdani a one-of-a-kind Arsenal shirt. The signed jersey was presented by Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store during an official visit to the United States in late September.
Mamdani is known for his passionate support of the Gunners, celebrating their Premier League title triumph in the 2025/26 season with great enthusiasm. Regularly seen in the club's colours, he enjoys watching matches alongside fellow supporters.
When he learned about the upcoming diplomatic trip of the Norwegian Prime Minister, Odegaard decided to personally pass on the memento to the New York leader. On the back of the new shirt, the captain left a heartfelt message:

The Mayor was over the moon with the gift and expressed his intention to cherish it. He also recalled how his love for the North London club began:
It’s all thanks to my uncle. He introduced me to Arsenal back in the late nineties—early 2000s. I was born in Uganda, East Africa. I can confidently say that Arsenal is the most popular team in Uganda.
