Manchester United evaluated a transfer for Nicolas Tagliafico before the summer window closed. Fabrizio Romano reported that the defender was discussed internally, but ultimately the club decided to step back from negotiations.

Manchester United have opted not to progress with their interest in Argentine defender Nicolas Tagliafico as the summer transfer window drew to a close.

Insider Fabrizio Romano has shared details of the situation:

At Manchester United, they discussed quite an unexpected name. That was Nico Tagliafico. They did indeed consider his candidacy.

Juventus and Atletico Madrid also attempted to sign him, but it was impossible to complete the transfer ahead of the deadline — it was simply too late.

Tagliafico was also looked at by Manchester United, but then the club decided not to continue. This decision was made by United themselves — they did not pursue this option any further.
