15-Second Brief
Manchester United plan to sign Dinamo Zagreb forward Dion Bello in January, having scored 12 goals in 13 matches this season, due to Benjamin Sesko's injuries and Joshua Zirkzee's likely departure.

Manchester United are preparing to dive into the January transfer market for a new central striker, averaging a goal a game. If the team's lacklustre results persist until the opening of the winter window, the club will not hesitate to make multiple signings.

Insider Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Mancunians boast a solid budget and are keen to bolster their squad. Alongside a left-back, the priority list includes a top-notch striker to create stiff competition for Benjamin Sesko. The need for a leading frontman has reached critical levels: Matheus Cunha has failed to meet expectations in the role of a pure central striker, Joshua Zirkzee lacks the trust of the coaching staff, and Benjamin Sesko is regularly struggling with recurring shin injuries. To make room for a new number nine, the club may likely part ways with Zirkzee.

Croatian hitman attracting scouts' attention

According to transfer expert TEAMtalk's Graeme Bailey, the INEOS hierarchy has set their sights on 24-year-old striker Dion Bello from Dinamo Zagreb. The Croatian forward is enjoying a phenomenal spell in his career, having already scored 12 goals in 13 appearances this season, while netting an impressive 38 times across all competitions in the last campaign.

Bello's exceptional performances have seen him cementing his place in the Croatian national team, where he recently opened his account during the international break with a goal against Spain. Currently, interest from the Red Devils is in the monitoring phase along with gathering analytical reports, but the English club's bosses are ready to formalise the deal at the earliest opportunity.

Competition for the prolific Croatian includes Tottenham, Everton, Newcastle, and Leeds, though the status and financial power of Manchester United make them the clear frontrunners in this transfer race.
