15-Second Brief
Declan Rice has opted to continue his career at Arsenal and is ready to sign a new contract. According to BBC reports, his weekly salary could increase from £240,000 to £350,000, with Fabrizio Romano confirming that both parties are discussing the final details of the agreement.

Declan Rice has made the decision to remain at Arsenal and is prepared to sign a new contract with the club. Negotiations are ongoing and reportedly at the final detail stage, with both sides close to an agreement.

The 27-year-old midfielder's current deal runs until the summer of 2028. Arsenal initiated talks with Rice and his representatives back in March, and now a contract extension is within reach.

According to BBC sources, the new agreement will also see Rice receive a substantial pay rise. Presently, he's earning around £240,000 a week, but that figure could rise to £350,000 with the new contract.

This adjustment would bring him level with Bukayo Saka, who is currently the club's highest-paid player.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano shared the latest updates:

“Arsenal are close to a new contract with Declan Rice following an agreement with Mikel Arteta — the plan is fully confirmed.”

“Rice has already decided to stay and will sign the contract soon. Only the final details are being discussed.”

“Arsenal are confident everything will be wrapped up shortly.”

Prior to this, Arsenal also extended Mikel Arteta's contract. After finalising Rice's deal, the club aims to secure agreements with Martin Odegaard and Jurrien Timber as well.

Extending Rice's contract will be a significant step for Arsenal in maintaining their current squad for the long term.
