Liverpool showed interest in Endrick last summer and even considered a full transfer for the Real Madrid forward. However, the Spanish club made it clear they weren't willing to discuss either a sale or a loan for the 20-year-old Brazilian.
Endrick has been struggling for game time under Jose Mourinho. After recovering from injury at the start of the season, he has only managed to clock in a few minutes on the pitch.
Fabrizio Romano shared his insights:
It’s true that Endrick hasn’t found his place at Real at the beginning of the season. The numbers speak for themselves.
But we can’t forget he has been unavailable for a long period due to injury and was working his way back. Therefore, he wasn’t in the optimal condition to feature for Jose Mourinho.
According to Romano, there were loan options for Endrick with Aston Villa, Roma, and AC Milan last summer, while Liverpool also expressed their interest beyond just a loan.
Romano reported:
Liverpool were interested in Endrick, but that’s as far as it went—no offer was made. They considered Endrick and at one point even contemplated buying him. But Real closed the door on both a loan and a full transfer.
The decision to keep the player was backed by Real president Florentino Perez, the club hierarchy, and Jose Mourinho. Endrick and his representatives also agreed to continue for the season in Madrid.
However, the forward’s future may come up again as the January transfer window approaches, and it will heavily depend on how much playing time he receives in the coming months.
Romano added:
Currently, Endrick is focused on Real—that’s an important point to stress.
What happens after December and during the January window will clearly depend on how much he plays at Real.
