Barcelona are eyeing a major Premier League transfer with 19-year-old Fulham midfielder Josh King firmly in their sights for the summer of 2027.
According to reports from TEAMtalk, the Catalonian giants are closely monitoring the young Englishman’s development and are considering a bid that could be around €60 million.
King has made considerable strides in the past year, establishing himself in Fulham’s first team. Last season, the midfielder featured in 36 matches across all competitions, drawing the eyes of scouts from top European clubs.
His skill set is particularly admired, especially his ability to retain possession under pressure and facilitate quick attacks from midfield.
However, the competition for King is set to be fierce. Alongside Barcelona, the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Inter Milan, and Atletico Madrid are all reportedly interested in acquiring the talent.
Under the guidance of manager Alvaro Arbeloa, King continues to impress, and with his contract at Fulham running until the summer of 2029, the London side may adopt a tough stance during negotiations.
A move in January appears unlikely, as interested clubs are currently weighing up their options, with most likely to revisit the transfer next summer.
If secured, King could bring fresh dynamism to Barcelona's midfield, but they'll need to come out on top against stiff competition from Premier League rivals and other esteemed clubs across Europe.
