Chelsea are interested in Tottenham's 18-year-old midfielder Luka Williams-Barnett, whom Roberto De Zerbi has labelled a precious diamond. The Londoners are looking to extend the talented player's contract, which is also attracting the attention of Man Utd, Bayern, and Borussia.

Chelsea have joined the hunt for one of England's top young prospects. The London club is monitoring 18-year-old attacking midfielder Luka Williams-Barnett from Tottenham, whom Roberto De Zerbi has dubbed a precious diamond.

According to The Sun, interest in the Englishman is growing, with Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund also keen. Tottenham has already opened talks with the player’s representatives about extending his contract, which has just over a year and a half left to run.

Williams-Barnett has been making a significant impression at youth level. In his only appearance so far this season for Premier League 2, he scored a goal and provided an assist, and during the recent international break, he netted in both matches he started for England's U19 side.

In August, the midfielder also featured for Tottenham's first team in a victorious League Cup match against Charlton (5-1). However, he is yet to make his debut in the Premier League.

De Zerbi holds the young player in high regard but believes his development should not be rushed.

The Italian manager stated:

We must treat him like a precious diamond. He needs to improve his decision-making, become physically stronger, and get minutes on the pitch at the right moments.

I have always given chances to young players. He has the potential to become something special.

Tottenham defender Ben Davies also believes there is a bright future ahead for Williams-Barnett.

Davies commented:

He is a truly excellent player with immense potential. His strong qualities are already visible.

I particularly like that he is unafraid. He is confident, tries creative solutions, and doesn’t shy away even when he makes mistakes. I think he has a big future ahead.

Sky Germany reports that despite Tottenham's desire to retain the midfielder, the possibility of him moving to another club is already being considered.

Chelsea is closely following the situation and could make a move for Williams-Barnett in 2027. However, Tottenham's priority remains securing a new contract with their homegrown talent.
