Liverpool are looking into the possibility of recruiting a new right-back this January, with Givaido Reid of Feyenoord emerging as a primary target. The Dutch club are said to value the young defender at around €30 million.
The need for reinforcements stems from the concerns surrounding current options under manager Andoni Iraola. Jeremy Frimpong has faced difficulties defensively, leaving Iraola uncertain about his long-term viability as the club's first-choice right-back.
Adding to the issue are the regular injuries to Conor Bradley. Following the loan of Ronald Araujo from Barcelona, Iraola has also been deploying the Uruguayan as a right-back, showcasing the need for greater depth in that position.
According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool are closely monitoring Reid’s development and are contemplating a bid in January to outpace rival interest. Manchester City and Arsenal have also shown interest in the 19-year-old.
Feyenoord are well aware of the growing attention surrounding Reid, who is contracted to the club until 2029 and could be sold for approximately €30 million.
Another option for Liverpool includes Jon Aramburu from Real Sociedad, who is also on the radar for Manchester City.
Therefore, shoring up the right side of defence looks set to be a key priority for Liverpool during the winter transfer window.
