Alejandro Garnacho might not see out his loan at Aston Villa, with a potential early exit on the cards as January approaches. The 24-year-old winger has struggled to make an impact in Birmingham, and his situation has caught the eye of multiple clubs in La Liga.
Garnacho made the move to Chelsea from Manchester United in the summer of 2025 for £40 million, but his first season at Stamford Bridge has been anything but successful. As the current season kicked off, the Argentine headed out on loan to Aston Villa.
Unai Emery has yet to hand Garnacho a starting spot in the Premier League. He has made three appearances off the bench, totalling a mere 30 minutes of action. In Emery's hierarchy, he finds himself behind Emile Buendia, Ibrahima Bayo, and John McGinn.
According to Mail Sport, several clubs in Spain are monitoring Garnacho’s situation closely. By January, he could have the opportunity to showcase his talents in La Liga.
Despite the interest from abroad, Chelsea currently have no plans to sell the player. Should he leave Aston Villa, a further loan move appears the most likely scenario.
Compounding Garnacho’s troubles is the fact that he has failed to convince two managers now — Xabi Alonso at Chelsea and Emery at Villa. If his playing time doesn’t increase, a transfer in January seems more than likely.
