Andoni Iraola has confirmed that Liverpool will continue working in the transfer market until the window closes. The head coach hopes to secure more than one new signing and acknowledged that the current squad lacks depth.

Liverpool's head coach Andoni Iraola has confirmed that the club is still working on strengthening the squad. The Spaniard is keen to bring in several new signings before the summer transfer window shuts on September 1.

This summer, Liverpool has already added the talents of Jeremy Doku, Victor Munoz, and Ifeanyi Ndukwe to their ranks, while Ronald Araujo has joined on loan. However, Iraola believes that the current squad still lacks depth.

In a conversation with Jamie Carragher on the programme Boss with Jamie Carragher, Iraola stated:

We will definitely sign players, yes. I hope for more than one.

The coach admitted that ideally he would have liked to secure new faces before the pre-season kicked off, but he understands the intricacies of the transfer market:

As a coach, of course, I want to have players on day one of pre-season so that everyone is ready. But I also understand how it works.

Sometimes you have to wait until the very end. What's most important is what the squad looks like on September 1. I hope we can get some additional reinforcements because right now our squad is quite limited.
