Hull City have emerged as the front-runners to sign 18-year-old Turkish goalkeeper Deniz Donmez from Kayserispor. The English club is actively working on a deal ahead of the January transfer window.
According to TransferFeed, negotiations for a potential move started back in July. Hull City is offering Donmez a contract that would run for four and a half years, with the option to extend for another season.
The transfer fee is expected to be around £1.5 million, with Kayserispor also set to receive 10% of any future sale of the young goalkeeper.
Interest in Donmez first grew during his time at Adana Demirspor, where clubs like Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, Besiktas, and Trabzonspor were keeping tabs on him. From abroad, scouts from Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Tottenham were reportedly watching the player, while Ajax considered making an offer, and Liverpool have also been linked with him.
One possible scenario in the deal is that Donmez could remain at Kayserispor until the end of the current season, allowing the Turkish club to benefit from additional payments based on his number of appearances.
As it stands, an agreement between the clubs has yet to be reached, and discussions are ongoing.
Donmez joined Kayserispor on September 12, 2025, with his current contract running until June 30, 2028. The goalkeeper has played four matches for Turkey's U19 side. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated at €1 million.
