Newcastle were interested in Brazilian winger William Gomes. The player has extended his contract with Porto until 2031, with a release clause now set at €100 million.

Newcastle have shown interest in 19-year-old Brazilian winger William Gomes, according to Andre Hernan. Despite the English club's interest, the player has chosen to remain with Porto.

Gomes has extended his contract with the Portuguese club until June 2031. Along with this extension, his release clause has been increased from €80 million to €100 million.

São Paulo, where Gomes developed, retains 20% of the economic rights to the player. This means that the Brazilian club will receive a portion of any future transfer deal should he be sold.

Despite Newcastle's pursuit, Gomes has established himself in Porto's first team and is now one of the key players for a side currently leading the league.
