15-Second Brief
Transfermarkt has published a list of the five Premier League players whose transfer values have dropped the most this season. At the top of this unfortunate ranking is Liverpool's Florian Wirtz, whose value has plummeted by €15 million.

As of the current season, 257 players in the Premier League have seen their market values reassessed. While the league's total valuation surged by €945 million to a record-breaking €14.11 billion, a select few have unfortunately seen their worth decline.

Transfermarkt has revealed the five players whose transfer values have plummeted the most this season.

5. Alejandro Garnacho (Aston Villa): from €28 million to €22 million (-€6 million)

Last summer, Chelsea forked out £40 million for the Argentinian talent. Fast forward a year, and the Blues were more than willing to send him out on loan to Aston Villa, with a mandatory purchase clause set at a similar fee. Following a disappointing start under Unai Emery, his coaching team is pinning hopes on a packed pre-season to reignite his Premier League career. If not, he could find himself warming the bench for the remainder of the season before returning to Chelsea.

3-4. Martin Subimendi (Arsenal): from €75 million to €65 million (-€10 million)

Once considered the missing puzzle piece in Arsenal's quest for the title, the Spaniard has quickly fallen out of favour. This season, Martin Subimendi has only started once in the EFL Cup, and that was in an unfamiliar right-back role, leaving Bruno Guimaraes and Mikel Merino to dominate central midfield. It’s anticipated that he will depart the Emirates this summer, with both Real Madrid and Chelsea reportedly interested.

3-4. Viktor Djoekresh (Arsenal): from €65 million to €55 million (-€10 million)

The Swedish forward has been prolific for his national team, yet his time at Arsenal has been far from fruitful. Djoekresh has played a mere 29 minutes in the opening five league matches, failing to find the net in both the Champions League and the EFL Cup. With Kai Havertz sidelined through injury, Mikel Arteta may hand him a chance against Leeds, but should Mikel Merino start upfront, it might seal a grim fate for the Swede.

2. Richarlison (Tottenham): from €25 million to €15 million (-€10 million)

This reduced valuation is enough to trigger his transfer in January. However, Tottenham would be more than content to see that figure, as the club has made it crystal clear they no longer require the services of the Brazilian striker.

1. Florian Wirtz (Liverpool): from €100 million to €85 million (-€15 million)

Recently, comparisons have been drawn between Jürgen Klopp's use of the player and that of Andoni Iraola's style. Florian Wirtz has shone for the German national team, reminding everyone why Liverpool splashed out £100 million for him only a year ago. However, he struggles to find the same freedom in the Premier League that he enjoys internationally. With just seven goals and 11 assists in 55 appearances for the Reds, fans expect more, especially with the midfield trio of Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, and Dominik Szoboszlai firmly in place.
