Midfielder Youri Tielemans has stated that he is fully prepared for a demanding season at Manchester United.
The Belgian is confident in his ability to handle the physical demands ahead, revealing that by the time he reaches 30, he could even surpass Lionel Messi's record for the most matches played in a career.
Having joined the Red Devils for £35 million, Tielemans discussed his physical condition in an interview with the Daily Mail, especially after a challenging World Cup.
“Honestly, I feel really good. During the World Cup, I had a slight issue, but that’s been sorted now, and I feel 100 percent fit again,”
He also spoke about his initial tactical discussions with head coach Michael Carrick.
“He wants to control the ball, he wants to press in a certain way... it’s just a feel for football, and that’s something I’ve been working on since I was young,”
Regarding the challenge of stepping in for Casemiro in the midfield, Tielemans insisted he doesn’t feel any pressure.
“We are all different players... I’m just trying to be myself, bring my best qualities to the team, and enjoy my time here,”
