These players enjoyed extra time off after their team reached the quarter-finals in North America, while the rest of the squad was busy with a summer tour across Asia.
Interestingly, Rodri was not among the returning players. The World Cup's standout performer is expected to report back on Friday after undergoing minor spinal surgery.
Manchester City are reportedly looking for a fee of £60 million due to interest from Barcelona regarding the Spanish midfielder. It remains uncertain if Rodri will link up with the team or take time to finalise his transfer.
New goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli has already joined the squad, while Jack Grealish is working on regaining his fitness but is anticipated to leave the club this summer.
This Sunday, Manchester City will face Arsenal for the FA Community Shield in Cardiff, with the Premier League campaign kicking off on August 23 at home against Bournemouth.
