Liverpool are eyeing Lamin Kamara as a key target to strengthen their midfield. Chelsea are not ready to re-enter negotiations under new terms, while Monaco expect to receive around €70 million for the 22-year-old Senegalese.

Liverpool may gain an edge in the pursuit of Lamin Kamara. The Monaco midfielder remains a target for the Merseyside club, while Chelsea are not currently inclined to return to negotiations on new financial terms.

Kamara was close to a move to Chelsea in the summer, but the deal fell through at the last minute, with talks centred around a transfer fee of around €55 million.

Now, the landscape has shifted. According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Monaco are looking to secure approximately €70 million for the 22-year-old midfielder.

Jacobs explained:

If Alexis Mac Allister leaves Liverpool in the summer of 2027, the club is expected to consider Kamara. However, they are also interested in Manu Kone and Alex Scott.

He added that Monaco's current position stems from their reduced urgency to sell the player and an expectation of strong competition for his signature.

Jacobs further noted:

Monaco believe Kamara is ready to stay until the summer. They also expect other clubs to enter the race, and I've heard there's interest from Bayern as well.

That said, one shouldn't completely rule out Chelsea re-entering negotiations. Xabi Alonso holds Kamara in high regard, and the club continues to monitor his performances closely.

However, Jacobs is adamant that if the price remains above the previously agreed €55 million, Chelsea are unlikely to be prepared to jump back into the deal.

In this context, Liverpool continues to seek a more dynamic midfielder suited to Andoni Iraola’s high-pressing style. Alongside Kamara, Kone and Scott remain on the club’s shortlist.

The situation could also hinge on Mac Allister's future. Should the Argentine depart in the summer of 2027, the necessity for Liverpool to bolster their midfield will become even more pressing.
