Coventry have agreed terms with Brentford for the transfer of central defender Ethan Pinnock. According to Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas, the total transfer fee could amount to £6 million.
Coventry will pay £5 million upfront for the 33-year-old, with an additional £1 million available in bonuses. The next step will see Pinnock undergo a medical examination.
Upon passing the medical, Pinnock is set to sign a three-year contract, which will include an option for an additional year's extension.
The defender has been with Brentford since 2019, having joined from Barnsley. In his time with the Bees, Pinnock has made over 200 appearances and played a crucial role in their promotion to the Premier League at the end of the 2020/21 season.
This marks Coventry's second signing from Brentford this summer, as Frank Lampard's side had previously signed midfielder Frank Onyeka.
