15-Second Brief
Mikel Arteta has refrained from commenting in detail on the Manchester City financial misconduct case, highlighting that the investigation is ongoing following an appeal. The Arsenal boss is focused on preparing for the match against Leeds.

Arsenal's head coach Mikel Arteta has chosen not to delve into the financial misconduct case surrounding Manchester City. With the independent commission having ruled against the Manchester club for a number of charges from 2009 to 2018, the matter remains unresolved as an appeal is still in process.

Arteta, who has a history with Manchester City after serving as Pep Guardiola's assistant from 2016 to December 2019, is currently adopting a cautious approach to the matter until a final verdict is reached.

'I completely understand this question, but I think it's very important to respect the process and the established timelines. The investigation is still ongoing, as there has been an appeal, so the situation is not resolved yet,' Arteta stated.

The manager emphasised Arsenal's stance on refraining from further comments until the investigation has concluded.

'My position, and as I understand the club's position, is to make no additional statements until everything is resolved,' he added.

Currently, Arteta's focus is solely on preparing his squad for the upcoming Premier League match.

'It's out of our hands. What we can control is how we prepare after all the players return from international duty, to go into the match in the best condition, to perform better than Leeds, and to win. That's our focus,' the manager stressed.

Arsenal is gearing up for their fixture against Leeds, while the final ramifications of Manchester City's financial case remain uncertain. The club has lodged an appeal against the commission's findings, meaning the development of the situation will hinge on the outcomes of that process.
