15-Second Brief
Mikel Arteta has expressed his pleasure at extending his contract with Arsenal, praising the club's approach during negotiations. The new agreement spans four years.

Arsenal's head coach Mikel Arteta has commented on his new four-year contract with the club, stating that he and his family are grateful for the chance to keep embarking on this journey together.

"I feel incredibly flattered. My family and I are very thankful to continue this wonderful journey that started almost seven years ago," Arteta remarked at the press conference.

The Spanish manager highlighted that he was particularly pleased with the negotiation process rather than just the end result. According to him, both parties were aligned from the start, aiming for a continuation of their partnership.

"I really liked how everything was handled. When two sides are discussing the future and looking to reach an agreement, it's vital that everyone walks away happy," he explained.

Arteta emphasised the significance of witnessing the positive reactions from club directors at the conclusion of negotiations. He specifically mentioned Stan and Josh Kroenke along with other Arsenal representatives.

"When you’re about to sign a contract, the most important thing is to look at everyone in the room and see smiles and genuine enthusiasm. That's exactly what I saw from Stan and Josh, as well as the others at the club," the coach elaborated.

However, Arteta noted that he does not view this contract extension as a guarantee of his position. He believes in proving his worth every single day to continue at this level.

This new four-year agreement will allow Arteta to stay at Arsenal for over a decade. His coaching staff also signed similar long-term contracts, ensuring stability for the club in the upcoming years.
