Spanish side Real Sociedad have reached a verbal agreement with London’s Chelsea for the loan of 20-year-old French defender Mamadou Sarr. According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, the clubs are currently preparing the necessary paperwork to finalise the transfer.
The deal is structured as a straight loan with no option for a permanent transfer included. The young defender, who joined Chelsea from Strasbourg in 2025 and has made seven appearances for the first team, was not included in the squad for Chelsea's evening match, as he is expected to arrive in San Sebastián imminently to complete the move. The versatile defender is anticipated to fill several roles in the backline, providing a tactical boost for the Basque club in the upcoming season.
