Manchester United has officially given Marcus Rashford the number nine shirt for the new season. The England international has rejoined Michael Carrick's side after a loan spell at Barcelona, which opted not to purchase him for £26 million.

Manchester United has officially confirmed that Marcus Rashford will wear the number nine shirt for the upcoming season. The striker has fully rejoined the first team following two loan spells.

Previously, Rashford spent a significant amount of time sporting the number 10 jersey, now claimed by Matheus Cunha.

In the last season and a half, the club's academy product spent time on loan, first with Aston Villa and then with Barcelona.

The Catalan club had the option to buy Rashford for £26 million but decided against activating that clause.

Upon his return to Manchester, the forward has been fully integrated into Michael Carrick’s squad and is ready to kick off the new season as Manchester United's number nine.
