Manchester United are keen to strengthen their left-back position ahead of the transfer deadline, with 28-year-old David Raum of RB Leipzig now on their radar.
According to Football Insider, United previously expressed interest in Lewis Hall but were put off by Newcastle's hefty valuation of the player.
The Magpies are demanding over £60 million for the defender, a price that has deterred the Red Devils. Consequently, the club has started exploring alternative options, with Raum among those being considered.
The German international is capable of covering the entire left flank and has yet to attract an official bid or talks between the two clubs.
Enhancing this position remains a priority for United as the transfer window approaches its close. Following an overhaul of the midfield, the club aims to add depth to their defence ahead of a season that will also see Michael Carrick's side compete in the Champions League.
