Alvarez has communicated to Atletico's hierarchy that he is set on a move to Barcelona, but Arsenal have indicated to the forward's representatives that they are ready to enter the fray should his plans change.
“Arsenal have requested that those close to the deal keep them informed if Julian decides to consider moving to English football. As it stands, Alvarez remains steadfast in his wish to join Barcelona. He is not rejecting Arsenal; he simply wants to play for Barcelona. That is the reality. It’s not about Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Bayern, or PSG — Alvarez only wants Barcelona,” Romano stated.
“However, following a meeting with Atletico Madrid in London on Friday, Arsenal are eager to stay updated in case the situation shifts. They respect the player's high valuation but still believe they could find a financial solution. They fully acknowledge Alvarez's desire to move to Barcelona, yet if he decides to change course in the next eight days, Arsenal want to be ready to re-enter the conversation.”
