Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior has rejected yet another contract proposal from Real Madrid, giving Arsenal a substantial shot at making the biggest signing in their history.
The 26-year-old's current deal runs until the summer of 2027, but the Real hierarchy is keen to avoid a situation where he could leave for free. They are reportedly open to selling him during this transfer window if a compromise over his contract cannot be reached.

Contract refusal: The Madrid club offered Vinicius a five-year contract worth around €22 million per season (approximately £362,000 a week), but the player has turned it down.
Exploring alternatives: According to Mijatovic, this situation suggests that Vinicius is not intending to extend his current deal and is already weighing up moves from other top clubs.
Financial considerations: The winger is looking for a salary closer to €30 million a year including bonuses, as well as a significant signing bonus.
