Chelsea are showing interest in Espanyol forward Roberto Fernandez. The London club's scouts have been keeping tabs on the 24-year-old Spaniard following his impressive start to the season.
Fernandez has hit the ground running, netting six goals in his first six matches in La Liga. According to Espanyol's official website, his fine form has also earned him a call-up to the senior Spain squad for the first time.
His scoring exploits have attracted attention well beyond Spanish borders. It seems BlueCo are weighing up a move for Fernandez after their attempts to secure former Levante striker Carlos Espi fell through when he opted for a move to Real Madrid instead.
Fernandez's early-season performances have not gone unnoticed, with his first call-up to the national team for the Nations League matches confirmed on September 18.
