Manchester United have agreed terms for a first professional contract with one of their most promising academy products, Noah Aghaji. At the same time, the club is adopting a strong position concerning another talent—Jay-Jay Gabriel, who wishes to depart.
According to Sully Talkz, 17-year-old Aghaji and his representatives have reached an agreement with United, and the German winger is expected to officially sign the contract soon.
Previously, Sky Sports News correspondent Daniel Khan reported that Aghaji had attracted interest from clubs across England and Europe, including Germany. However, the player has chosen to stay at United, where he has been since the age of ten.
Aghaji is highly regarded by the academy coaches. Last season, he played a pivotal role in steering the team to the final of the FA Youth Cup, and it is anticipated that he will feature more regularly with Michael Carrick's first-team training in the current campaign.
In parallel, United are trying to retain Jay-Jay Gabriel. The 16-year-old, who will turn 16 in October, has officially requested to be deregistered to enable a move as a free agent.
ESPN reports that United are not planning to terminate Gabriel's contract and will deny his request for deregistration. Manchester Evening News adds that the club intends to reject his plea.
Meanwhile, Gabriel has travelled to Barcelona for discussions regarding a potential transfer to the Catalan club. While the possibility of his departure remains after October 6, any such move would require FIFA approval.
