Bayern are closely monitoring the situation of Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz and are keen on bringing him back to Germany, according to BILD.
The 23-year-old made his move to Anfield from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2025 for a hefty £116 million. Since then, the German has found the net just 7 times in 54 appearances across all competitions, leaving him yet to fully live up to his price tag.
Despite his current form, Bayern still hold the midfielder in high regard and are keeping a close eye on how things develop. Meanwhile, Liverpool have not lost faith in Wirtz and are committed to giving him opportunities to prove himself.
Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola also came to Wirtz's defence ahead of their Premier League clash with Bournemouth:
I don’t get too bogged down by numbers. At the moment, it’s all about statistics – players are constantly told they need to score and assist. For me, the main thing is that the player helps the team play well.
If the team plays well, goals will inevitably come from someone.
