Arsenal aim to make at least one significant signing in January and could alter their approach to the winter transfer market. One of Mikel Arteta's main targets is 20-year-old striker Ely Junior Krupi from Bournemouth.
Having gone without major winter signings in 2024, 2025, and 2026, Arteta is now keen to bolster his squad for the second half of the season.
The pressing issue remains the attack. Last summer, Arsenal explored various options to enhance their frontline, but faced setbacks as Vinicius Junior renewed his contract with Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid refused to sell Julian Alvarez.
Consequently, the English Champions saw the addition of Christos Tsolis, while the departures of Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, and Leandro Trossard have left Arteta with limited attacking choices.
Now, the Gunners are poised to revisit their interest in Krupi. Although the Frenchman will miss a few weeks due to an ankle injury, expected to return in November, Arsenal's interest remains undeterred.
In his debut season in English football, Krupi netted 13 goals in the Premier League. His progress has also caught the eye of Tottenham, who could present stiff competition to Arsenal in pursuit of the player.
However, securing the striker won't be a walk in the park. Bournemouth are reportedly demanding around £100m for the 20-year-old.
If Arsenal decide to push through with the deal, it would mark a notable shift in the club's winter transfer strategy after three years without significant January acquisitions.
