Tottenham are exploring the option of signing forward Mauro Icardi, who is currently available as a free agent. This comes from Italian outlet Cronache di Spogliatoio.
The London club views the 33-year-old Argentine as one of their potential solutions to bolster their attack after a dismal start to the season. Tottenham have failed to score a single goal in their opening four Premier League matches and currently languish in 17th place heading into the fifth round of fixtures.
Having splashed over £300 million on squad reinforcements during the summer, Spurs had hoped for a change in fortunes following two consecutive seasons finishing in 17th position. However, under Roberto De Zerbi, the side continues to struggle with their scoring woes.
Icardi is available on a free transfer after leaving Galatasaray last summer, where he spent four years.
