Chelsea could revisit their interest in Jules Kounde in 2027. The London club has been keeping tabs on the Barcelona defender for some time and still views him as a potential reinforcement for their defence.
The Blues have been interested in the Frenchman since 2025.
There have been whispers about Kounde's discontent with his situation at Barcelona, where he has found himself frequently warming the bench.
This season, he has only made three starts under Hansi Flick so far.
Part of this has been attributed to his delayed return following the 2026 World Cup.
However, Barcelona recently extended Kounde's contract until 2030, making any potential negotiations quite complicated.
Xabi Alonso has already bolstered Chelsea’s defence over the summer.
New arrivals include Marco Palestra, Maxence Lacroix and Pep Chavarria, while some defenders have departed the club.
Despite these signings, Kounde remains on the radar for the Londoners.
The estimated value of the 27-year-old defender is around €60 million, a sum Chelsea might be prepared to pay.
However, they could face stiff competition.
Manchester United and Liverpool are also monitoring the situation, with Arsenal previously linked to Kounde as well.
