Paul Scholes believes Cole Palmer could be set for a switch from Chelsea to Manchester United in the future. The 24-year-old midfielder has long supported the Manchester club since childhood.
While discussing Palmer's transfer from Manchester City to Chelsea, Scholes commented:
If you look back, United definitely should have tried to snap him up from City. But, we're talking about rivals. He’s a United fan, but would City really sell him there? I don't think so. And why would they?
Former teammate at United, Nicky Butt, added:
I can definitely see him moving from Chelsea to United in the end.
Scholes replied:
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised. I think that could very much happen.
Palmer himself dismissed any talk of leaving Chelsea back in April, stating:
People just talk. When I see it, I laugh. Manchester, of course, is my home; my whole family is there, but I don’t miss it. I have no plans to leave Chelsea.
