Nottingham Forest are close to signing 18-year-old forward Michael Noonan from Shamrock Rovers. The promising young Irishman is expected to arrive in England in the coming days for a medical ahead of a move in January.
Forest can acquire the forward without a full transfer fee, as they will only need to pay Shamrock Rovers a compensation fee for the player's training.
Notable European clubs have shown interest in Noonan, who has previously been linked with Hoffenheim. Ajax and Benfica have also been tracking his progress closely.
Noonan made his switch to Shamrock Rovers in January 2025 and soon made headlines in European competitions. By scoring against Molde, he became the youngest goalscorer in the history of the UEFA Conference League.
Since then, the forward has established himself in the first team of the Dublin club, helping Shamrock Rovers clinch the Irish league title in 2025.
