Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot reached a significant milestone at Old Trafford. The Premier League clash against Manchester City on Sunday (0-1) marked his 250th official appearance for the club.
The 27-year-old right-back started in the Manchester derby and played the full 90 minutes. This notable achievement comes in his seventh season with the Red Devils.
By reaching this milestone, Dalot has joined an elite club of Portuguese players, becoming only the third representative from Portugal in the illustrious history of Manchester United to hit the 250-game mark, following the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo and current team captain Bruno Fernandes.
Dalot made the switch to Manchester in the summer of 2018 from Portuguese side Porto, quickly establishing himself as a key and irreplaceable player in the squad. In his 250 matches for the club, the full-back has netted 10 goals and provided 17 assists across all competitions.
Unfortunately for the player and fans alike, this significant milestone was tainted by the derby result, as United fell to their city rivals with a narrow defeat courtesy of a solitary Erling Haaland goal.
