Real Madrid has reignited their interest in Arsenal midfielder Martin Subimendi. According to Spanish publication SPORT, the La Liga giants are exploring the possibility of transferring the 27-year-old Spain international in the upcoming January window.
Subimendi joined Arsenal from Real Sociedad back in 2025 for a fee of around £56 million. However, his role in Mikel Arteta's tactical plans has come under scrutiny this season, with the Spaniard seeing very limited playing time since the start of the campaign.
As per the source, Arsenal's hierarchy is open to approving the transfer of Subimendi in January should his situation regarding playing time not improve in the coming months.
Real Madrid had shown interest in Subimendi even before his move to North London and is still on the hunt for a top-class defensive midfielder. Given Subimendi's long-term contract with the Gunners, any potential deal in January will depend entirely on Madrid's willingness to meet Arsenal's financial demands.
