Fabrizio Romano has stated that Chelsea have no plans to secure Wijnaldum's services, despite swirling rumours following their unsuccessful bid to land Lamina Camara in the dying hours of the transfer window.
The 35-year-old midfielder's name cropped up in light of the Camara situation and the recent departure of Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City for a staggering £125 million. With the transfer window now closed, the free agent market remains one of the few options open for Chelsea, as players without a club can still negotiate contracts post-deadline.
Wijnaldum currently finds himself without a club after parting ways with Al-Ittihad. He has previously donned the shirts of Newcastle, Liverpool, PSG, and Roma, and notably clinched the Premier League and Champions League titles during his time at Liverpool.
