Chelsea may be set to part ways with their 19-year-old winger Estevao William, with reports suggesting a potential move to Spanish giants Barcelona.
Last season, Estevao made a significant impact on his debut at Stamford Bridge, scoring eight goals and providing three assists. However, the start of the current campaign has been tough for him. Under Xabi Alonso, he has only made two starts in League Cup matches against Luton Town and Leeds United, and he has played just 29 minutes in the Premier League.
The young talent has found himself on the fringes, largely due to the exceptional form of Chelsea's attacking trio of Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers, and Joao Pedro. Journalists have noted that there is no discord between him and the head coach, but it seems his opportunities are limited.
Former Chelsea winger and football pundit Pat Nevin believes that Estevao’s days at the club are numbered.
“When he joined Chelsea and played a couple of matches, I thought what a fantastic, brilliant player he is. I absolutely admire him. He will become a great player, but probably not for Chelsea.”
Estevao's next chance to impress could come in the League Cup match against Liverpool, following a Premier League clash with Tottenham.
