Tottenham's Javi Simons has enrolled in Harvard Business School's Crossover Into Business programme, balancing his studies with recovery from a cruciate ligament injury.

Midfielder Javi Simons from Tottenham has decided to use his enforced break from football for self-improvement. The 23-year-old Dutch player has enrolled in the prestigious Harvard Business School's Crossover Into Business programme. He intends to balance an intensive rehabilitation course with studying business.

Simons officially announced his enrolment on LinkedIn. This specialised programme is designed by Harvard specifically for professional athletes, helping them understand fundamental business mechanisms, investment management, and entrepreneurship.

Speaking about his decision, Simons remarked:

During my recovery period, I wanted to make the most of my free time. Football remains my top priority, but I also want to keep learning and progressing outside of the pitch.

According to Simons, this education will deepen his insight into the business side of the sports industry, allowing him to gain experience from leading figures in other fields and grow as a multifaceted individual rather than just a professional athlete. In recent weeks, the midfielder has visited both the East and West Coasts of the USA, attending several valuable business meetings and learning about innovative business process strategies.

However, the Dutchman has made it clear that his focus on returning to the game remains paramount. Simons is continuing his rehabilitation after suffering a serious knee injury—a ruptured cruciate ligament—sustained on April 25 during a Premier League match against Wolverhampton.
