Daniel Farke on MOTD after victory over Forest (1-0): praises winning goal scorer Anton Stakh, the debuts of Trafford, Muharemovic, and Wilson, plus the clean sheet.

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke appeared on the iconic BBC Match of the Day programme to discuss his side's narrow 1-0 away victory against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League opener.

During the analysis, Farke praised Anton Stakh's late winner, James Trafford's performance, and the smooth integration of new players into the squad.

"I always unequivocally believe in my players, and Anton Stakh regularly creates moments like that on the pitch. I anticipated a tough match away at Forest. I am incredibly happy that we leave with a win and a clean sheet — I express my huge respect to the entire team.

As for the new signings? I'm very pleased, as they have to step up and justify high expectations. James Trafford is a brilliant goalkeeper, even though he hasn’t had many games in the Premier League yet. Tariq (Muharemovic) also came into the game excellently. Both shone and clearly showed why we decided to sign them. But today the whole team was fantastic. Harry Wilson also looked outstanding. At the moment, there’s a wonderful atmosphere and mood within the squad.

Away matches? In the Premier League, away games are always challenging. Sometimes the second season at this level can be even harder than the first. Last year, we picked up a lot of points through draws, but now we want to be even more competitive and efficient on the road.

As for the rematch with Forest on Tuesday? That’s football for you; at least now we head into it in great spirits."
