Chelsea legend Cesar Azpilicueta has stated that he will one day return to the club where he spent 11 seasons as a player.
“I will return one day. Though I won’t be pulling on the boots again,” he said with a smile, reflecting on his departure.
Having hung up his boots at the end of last season, the Spanish defender is currently taking a breather from the pitch. However, he remains committed to advancing his career in the sporting world.
Azpilicueta has recently obtained a diploma in global football management from the PFA Business School, which could lay the groundwork for his future in football management.
There are suggestions that he could potentially take on a role as a sporting or technical director at Chelsea, where he captained the team and became one of the most recognisable figures in the club's modern history over his 11-year tenure.
