Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has spoken out about Enzo Fernandez's transfer to Manchester City on the last day of the summer transfer window. The Spaniard highlighted that the decision was made with the team's best interests at heart.
Xabi Alonso stated:
All decisions are made together. This applies to both big and small matters. Ultimately, we understand that the main goal is to do what is best for the team. We want to create a good atmosphere and a strong squad.
The manager also addressed the circumstances surrounding Fernandez's departure:
Football is unpredictable. We had conversations with Enzo and always treated each other with respect. What he did for the club was wonderful, but now it's time to move on.
