Manchester United's manager Michael Carrick has expressed his satisfaction with the club's activity during the recent transfer window. He stated that the primary objective was to strengthen the squad compared to last season, and they achieved this aim.
Carrick stated:
We went into the transfer window with the desire to come out of it with a stronger squad than we had last season. We’ve definitely achieved that. A lot of work has gone into this, and while our financial situation dictated certain opportunities, I’m very pleased with the players we've brought in.
I think we've done really well in the transfer market.
It’s always possible to look back and think about what we could have or should have done differently. However, much depends on the opportunities that arise in the market.
Overall, I believe we have a good squad. We’ve got versatile players capable of playing in various positions when needed.
This summer, Manchester United focused primarily on strengthening the midfield, signing Youri Tielemans, Andre Santos, and Carlos Baleba. However, the club ended the window without adding a new defender, despite actively searching for reinforcements on the left flank of defence.
