Bournemouth owner Bill Foley has expressed optimism about securing a new deal for midfielder Alex Scott, despite significant interest from Chelsea.
We would love for Alex to stay here, sign a new contract, and be part of this team for many years. We're still working on this and not giving up,
Foley told talkSPORT.
The American billionaire also took a swipe at Chelsea and Manchester City, suggesting that some players get starry-eyed at the thought of a move to a bigger club.
It's worth noting that Chelsea made three official bids for the midfielder over the summer, with the last proposal hitting £68 million. However, Bournemouth's hierarchy values the 23-year-old significantly higher at over £100 million, although an offer around £90 million could make them reconsider a sale in the upcoming January transfer window.
As it stands, Alex Scott, who is under contract until 2028, is currently recovering from a quadriceps injury.
