The Nigerian defender reflected on the significance of scoring early and took the opportunity to hit back at sceptics who doubted the Tigers' prospects in the Premier League.
'It was incredible! That goal was a brilliant culmination of the powerful start we made. I was absolutely buzzing to score the goal that put us ahead and set the right tone for the whole game. To be honest, it didn't matter who scored — what mattered was that there were no lengthy VAR checks and we could celebrate a clean goal straight away!
As for the critics? We're not focused on the external noise whatsoever. We are fully confident in ourselves, believe in our abilities, and are looking forward to a truly positive and successful season.'
