Chelsea triumphed over Everton with a 2-0 victory in the seventh round of the Premier League, with Pedro Neto stealing the spotlight thanks to a brace.
Despite a tense first half devoid of goals, the game quickly changed after the break. Just a minute into the second half, Neto fired Chelsea ahead, putting the London side in front.
Everton looked to claw back into the match, but Chelsea’s defence stood firm, denying their opponents any chances to level the score. In the dying moments of the match, Neto struck again in the 90th minute, sealing the victory for his team.
The second half was marred by a lengthy stoppage due to a frightening head collision between Emiliano Martinez and Jarrad Branthwaite. Both players were left on the ground as medical teams rushed to their aid.
Martinez required evacuation on a stretcher, and was substituted by Mike Penders, who made his Premier League debut as a result. Branthwaite, after receiving medical attention, managed to continue playing. The hold-up lasted nearly ten minutes, underscoring the seriousness of the incident.
