Alvaro Arbeloa assessed Fulham's performance against Liverpool, stating the team corrected errors from their defeat to Crystal Palace.

Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa shared his thoughts on the 0-0 draw against Liverpool in the Premier League, clearly pleased with the performance of his players at Anfield.

"I am happy with the point, but also with the way my players performed. Playing at this stadium against a very strong team, we showed great character. We are satisfied," Arbeloa said in an interview with BBC Match of the Day.

The Spaniard indicated that lessons had been learned following their defeat to Crystal Palace, allowing his men to rectify previous issues.

"After the match with Crystal Palace, my players understood what the problem was, and we corrected it. Today we were more balanced, played really well, and effectively controlled Liverpool's counter-attacks."

Arbeloa also highlighted that his side performed well against strong opponents in the past, despite not always getting the results they desired.

"We played well against Chelsea and Crystal Palace but ended up losing. We were doing a lot of things right and need to keep that momentum going. Today, against a truly strong team, we improved our game and worked hard all week."

Arbeloa on Fulham's character

The Fulham boss acknowledged the challenge of explaining the team's progress to supporters in the absence of wins.

"I know how difficult it is when you’re not winning matches to tell the fans that we are doing many things right and deserve more. We can become a very difficult team for any opponent."

For Arbeloa, the match at Anfield held special significance as it marked his return to the stadium following his departure from Liverpool.

"I am happy to be back at Anfield. It’s a special stadium for me, particularly because of the fans. This was my first time here since leaving the club. I hope to return again."
