Antoine Semenyo has made history as the first Ghanaian player to be included in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year. The forward received this accolade for the 2025/26 season, during which he played for Bournemouth and Manchester City.
Semenyo had an impressive first half of the season at Bournemouth, scoring 10 goals in the league. He made a switch to Manchester City in January for around £62.5 million.
By the end of the season, the 26-year-old had netted a total of 17 goals and provided 4 assists in the Premier League, setting a record for Ghanaian players for most goals in a single Premier League season.
The PFA Team of the Year is determined through voting by professional footballers.
At the ceremony in Manchester, Semenyo remarked:
You've been playing against these players all year. It's nice to know that I've made it among those they've voted for.
