Nottingham Forest have struck a deal with Chelsea for the transfer of Liam Delap for approximately £50 million, according to BBC Sport’s chief football correspondent Sami Mokbel. This will mark a record signing in the history of the club.
The 23-year-old forward is expected to undergo a medical this week, before finalising a long-term contract with the club.
Delap leaves Chelsea just a year after his £30 million switch from Ipswich Town. Last season, he managed to score only one goal in the Premier League, with a portion of his campaign disrupted due to shoulder and hamstring injuries.
Chelsea have opted to offload the striker this summer, and at Nottingham Forest, Delap will face stiff competition for a spot in the attack alongside Chris Wood and Igor Jesus.
